Here's an interesting mixology event from the folks over at Union Market (1309 5th Street) & Bazaar Spices.

Join us on January 16th for a conversation about modern mixology with Eliza Mairesse of Life 2 Order. Her recent project, JARRING BOTANICALS, focuses on making creative alcohol infusions to then transform into your favorite cocktails. The talk will include the basic science behind MAKING YOUR OWN INFUSIONS, those crowd-pleasing novelties that could once be found on the shelves of only the trendiest bars, and a LIVE DEMONSTRATION to let you turn that science into reality. You will learn how  - with a little experimentation and patience - you can use a vast array of spices, dried herbs and flowers, fruit and even vegetables to make delicious concoctions in your own kitchen. And what's even more exciting, you will get to bring home your own botanical kit in a jar. Just pour in the spirit and let the magic happen.

Cost is $20 per person, registration is required. Thursday, January 16, from 6:30-7:30pm.

*Receive a free Jarring Botanical Infusion Kit at the end of this workshop.
