Gallaudet is poised to unveil a new mural this Friday at the H Street Giant. The description ("Art display will Highlight Giant's Role in the Community as the Nation's Capital Grocer") is slightly cryptic, but it sounds like a fun pre-lunch break.
WHAT: Gallaudet University art students present Giant with a “Nation’s Capital Grocer” mural that will be displayed inside the H Street Giant store.
On Friday, March 28th, 2014, students from the Gallaudet University Art, Communication, and Theatre Department will unveil a mural inspired by the community contributions Giant Food has made throughout the District of Columbia.
WHY: In May 2013, Giant Food of Landover, Md. opened a new store in Northeast Washington, D.C. at the intersection of 3rd and H Streets. Because Gallaudet University is a neighbor, located near the store, Giant engaged the school’s art department to create the mural for display in the foyer of the store. It serves as a visual recognition of their shared commitment to education and community wellbeing, and creates something special for the new store and community members who will enjoy it for years to come.
WHO: Mural Presentation Participants
-Gallaudet University Professor of Art, Tracey Salaway
-Giant Food Public and Community Relations Manager, Jamie Miller
-Giant Food Store Manager, Charlton Clarke
-Giant Food customers and associates
-Gallaudet University art students
WHERE: The Giant at 300 H Street

that's pretty neat. can't wait to check it out.
this is pretty awesome! love the community involvement at H street locations, outside of the typical bars, galleries, etc.
Yeah, great...
Interesting that my comment ("yeah, great...") was removed. Is that standard practice now at FroTro?
Just because I have a hard time getting excited about a mural inside a grocery store doesn't mean my perspective is not relevant...
3:54,
I pulled a few comments left by a single person around the same time yesterday (deaf jokes). It seems like I accidentally ticked off one more box then I intended & it pulled your comment. Here's your comment back.
I guess it's good it's a mural by deaf students
not blind students :-)
ba dum
i went there yesterday at noon, and i didn't see a mural
to the person(s) with the deaf jokes,
you should be embarrassed that you're old enough to understand humanity yet you feel the need to put down people. at least have the balls to show your real name so we know to stay the F away from you.
