Hooray for Businesses That Shovel Their Walks
Whenever we experience heavy snowfall, we get a chance to see which businesses are truly good neighbors, in part by seeing who decides to handle the civic duty of shoveling the snow from the walk in front of their business. Taylor (1116 H St) and H&Pizza (1118 H St) have done a great job doing that this season.
Then, there are more complicated cases. There is a large public sidewalk that runs the length of the northern edge of AutoZone (1207 H St) and that sidewalk *always* goes unplowed. I didn't check it out during our latest round of snowfall, but I expect to be disappointed when I take a look later today (or maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised!). While I am not clear regarding whose legal responsibility it is to clear that portion of the walk, it sure would be the neighborly thing to do for Auto Zone to shovel that snow.
To keep this post on the positive side, do any of you have area businesses to commend for shoveling their walk?
