Hope someone called animal control. A couple loose pit bulls attacked several people and dogs nearby just recently. That's not to say pit bulls are inherently problematic, it's just to say if there's a dog on the loose, we're all better off if someone safely secures it ASAP.
If you see this dog or another on the loose, please alert Animal Control at 576-6664.
@ Pat, calling MPD might work unless it endangers the life of an officer. if that happens nothing will be done especially calling in for back up. or if the dog ends up in a police pursuit that will endanger the lives of pedestrians, and of course no course of action will be pursued in that case as well.

This dog gets loose from time to time. The owners of the dog lives on the 400 Block of H Street NE. I believe either 402 or 404 H Street NE.

completely unacceptable. Please call animal control asap when you see this.
Seriously, call animal control.
I am not sure this is the same dog, but there is a pit bull that REGULARLY gets out in that area and shows aggression to people and other dogs.
I appreciate your concern, but the dog has a collar. Animal control will return it to its owners and hopefully fine them, if necessary.
You'd be doing the owner a favor and saving them from a possible lawsuit.

no dog should be walking around without a leash. there are children in the neighborhood.

Maybe we can get MPD Mutt Patrol on the job.
