The H Street Farmers Market Returns Saturday
Don't miss this year's opening of the H Street NE FRESHFARM Market, this Saturday at 9am (market closes at 12pm). The market is located on 13th Street, immediately north of H Street.
Vendors at the market sell fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meats, preserved foods, break, cookies, & much more.
Along with returning farmer/producers we have a few new faces:
Amore Gelato: small-batch gelato made with local ingredients
Shepherd’s Whey Creamery: farmstead goats cheeses
Cured DC: handcrafted cured meats and salami.– Cured is only coming once a month, but we hope it is so popular that H Street shoppers will convince Cured to come every week.
Also this year marks the market's 10 year Anniversary and they are celebrating with a low-key block party after market on June 7th from 1pm to 4pm. Mark your calendar because, while they haven’t yet hashed out the details, but it might include a pot luck meal, featuring food from the market, with the farmers as the guest of honor. They will probably also have some games of chance, prizes and giveaways, music and maybe even a moon bounce.

Joe Yonan of The Washington Post, will be at market tomorrow for opening, signing books and doing a deviled egg demo!
i like the scones from the bakery
Why isn't there an address? Where is this? I have a child and do not have time to be combing 13th street looking for this shangri-la of a market.
It's right in front of the RL Christian Library and the Corner Cafe, grumpy pants.
anon 12:26, the market is also friendly to those little ones not contributing to our GDP
Jesus H. Christ, Anon 12:26:
1. Since the blog is about our neighborhood, it's a reasonable guess that the market is along the part of 13th Street within our neighborhood. And with that mind, if you can't find a market that spans the width of the entire street, you need help that nobody here can give.
2. Your indignant "why isn't there an address" suggests that the person who runs the blog somehow owes you or was failing in some sort of responsibility to you. I wonder if you have any idea how ridiculous that makes you look.
HTH. HAND.
Again. Still no address provided. Directions on this blog are always like "by the big tree" or "near the crack house on Morse St." The author should be Greatful for these helpful tips that make the work more complete.
It's on 13th St NE - when you see a large group of white people buying vegetables, you're there! Does that help?
No. 13th st is long. What is the approximate address. This is not rocket science.
I STILL CAN'T FIND THIS PLACE.
"Immediately north of H Street" ...
Can someone please tell me where "north" is in relation to H?
It's not like the streets are laid out on a North/South grid or anything like that.
Completely lost...
I think it's south of H actually...and northwest of the Checkers. If you hit the river, you've gone too far.
13th & H St NE. That's the address. That's where it is.
If you go to the corner of 13th and G, you are too far south. If you go to 13th and I, you are too far north. you go to 14th and H, you are too far east. If you go to 12th and H, you are too far west.
anon 2:07
you're clever and funny!
I don't see why it's so hard to approximate an address. All lots in the district are assigned an address. All I would like to get is a location, which is like pulling teeth on this here blog.
If you're looking to get a tooth pulled, I've got a great dentist, over on K Street. You should check him out. Take the Bus that picks up near Union Station and it will take you right there.
Anon 9:08: here's an address, and directions. Please take your time going there and especially coming back.
You really are all the worst kind of people. Like worse than Hitler. Did I mention that I have a child, so I don't have time for any of this.
