I had a chance to speak to one of the proprietors of
Micho's Lebanese Grill (500 H Street) this past weekend and he was confident that they would be opening very soon, possibly as early as the 4th of July weekend. Let's all keep our fingers crossed for that. District Cuisine has a
menu and
interior photos up for Micho's, so you can start planning now what dishes you want to check out.

sounds like a ROTI...
Sounds like a RIOT to me.
what is the difference between this and shawafel?! If they were smart they would have opened a sit down restaurant with proper dishes instead of wraps!
I look forward to walking over once it opens. The west side of H is not bursting with quick casual options, so this is a welcome addition, even if Shawafel is similar.
This is basically an item for item ripoff of the Shawafel menu, down to what goes in the sandwiches. Makes sense considering that Micho used to work prep over there.
I mean good on you for getting your own place, but still...
omg, he used to work there?! That is f***ed up. I have nothing against growing and becoming independent though. As for me, I think I'll prefer walking over to shawafel though. I think casual food belongs to the east side where the bars are. On the west side, for casual I would go to Big Board.I want more good places like Ethiopic and Le Grenier and given the awsome cuisine the Lebanse have, i think it's a shame to open another shwarma place so close to another one which is already great.
In other news, New Citi Pizza is open again. Go help them out.
someone should help new citi buy a quart of paint to cover up that stupid graffiti
You can just open a Lebanese place and then sell tasteless crap in DC
Great schwarma (with lamb) and grape leaves (with lamb!)real labneh, kibbeh (with lamb!) and fresh bread....
Sadly Jose Andreas, and Greek Deli are the only places to get good Mediterranean food although Mobi Dick makes a nice hot kabob
We need the guys from Kabob Palace in Crystal City to open a place.
I like Shawafel, but I feel like the portions are so small that I need to buy two meals (or a bunch of sides). I don't expect to eat lunch in DC for $5, but $12 without drink is a bit too much IMHO.
Besides, as someone who lives on the 800 block near H, the more stuff we can get on the west and middle, the better. And yes, sit-down dining options are great, but we have a decent number of those. A couple more good, quick places would be nice.
It's not open yet. If you want your comment to post you might want want to keep your language clean.
