CCPCS Trinidad Campus to Get New Playground Tomorrow
Students at Center City Public Charter School Trinidad Campus (1217 West Virginia Ave) currently have no playground, but that's about to change. More than 200 volunteers from the Carlyle Group and organizers from the non-profit KaBOOM! will converge on the site to assemble a playground for the students who attend the school. This playground is special partly because its design is based upon children's drawings created at a special event in August.
Here's an approximate timeline of what you'll see if you wander over to watch:
8:30am-9am Kick-off ceremony
11am-1:30pm Playground construction
2:30pm-3pm Ribbon-cutting ceremony
This is the second playground that the Carlyle Group and KaBOOM! have partnered to build together. Fun fact: that's about 44,388 square feet of safety surfacing that the volunteers will move by hand.
