My cheddar, dijon mustard, mixed greens, and sourdough grilled cheese proved a pleasant accompaniment to a glass of rosé. This is one of many variations you can select from the build your own grilled cheese portion of the dinner menu at The Pursuit (1421 H Street). The Pursuit is a recently opened wine bar that offers a setting both social and intimate.
There's a long bar and a few seats off to the side downstairs, but the upstairs portion is populated entirely with tables and couches.
In addition to an ample selection of wines, The Pursuit also has a full bar, and a cocktail menu that includes rotating specials. In the background of this photo you will notice the Moscow mule cups, and the jars of infused spirits and shrubs.
One thing you might not expect is that The Pursuit serves brunch. I have yet to sample the shrimp and grits, but one of the owners showed me a tempting photo of the dish. Brunch is every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-3pm.
The flights and featured wines change daily, so even frequent customers will find something to pique their interest on any given visit.

I regularly see a decent-sized crowd in there, but haven't stopped in yet. This and The Elroy are both great additions to the east side.

I love The Pursuit. Even though it's a wine bar, you should definitely try their cocktails. They're inventive without being bizarre for novelty's sake. Their gin cocktails are especially well done. A great edition to H Street.
Can't wait to give myself over to their *offerings*.
Was there for their health pour Mondays. I seriously recommend if you like receiving half a bottle of wine for the price of one pour.

Just had the grilled cheese over there a few nights ago. Place is really awesome, nice and chill, friendly wait staff. A great addition to H St. I'm happy we finally have a proper wine bar!
