Friday, December 12
Carroll Square Gallery – 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Hemphill Fine Arts announces a showing of artwork by Tracy’s Kids Art Therapy Program. This program engages young cancer patients, their sibling, and parents in the creative process to reflect on and express their feelings about their treatment experiences. Celebrate the opening of the newest studio space on the Brookland Arts Walk, Studio 22. Artists Tamora Ilasat and Karen Van Allen will display their works for visitors to view while enjoying food and refreshments. For more information, click here.

Transformer – 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Oil, Then Acrylic by Jameson Magrogan examines the perceived hierarchy of mediums. Magrogan plays with the idea of the point when a painting becomes a sculpture in his first solo exhibition. For more information, click here.

artdc Gallery – 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Density at artdc Gallery presents the works of twelve Washington-area photographers. The works in this exhibition span a variety of techniques from gelatin prints to large-scale digital prints. For details about the artists and exhibition, click here.

Open Studio dc – 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
