The Vice and Virtue Revue is an authentic cabaret born from the minds of Zhora Nova and Ophelia Derriere. It comes complete with a dynamite cast and New Orleans Jazz served messy by the Soggy Po Boys! Featuring the lovelies from Richmond Burlesque: Ophelia Derriere, Zhora Nova, Deepa de Jour, Ellie Quinn, Melody Magpie and Magnolia Jackson Picket Burnside!
The Soggy Po Boys were born at the old location of the Barley Pub in Dover, NH on Fat Tuesday of 2012. The group was formed as a smaller Hammond organ group with two horns and had planned to play roots New Orleans funk and brass band music but misunderstood the gig's timeline and ended up a set short on material.
For the unexpected last set they gathered around the piano and played acoustically, focusing on New Orleans early jazz standards and spirituals. They haven't looked back, performing in this way weekly and all over the Seacoast with a full horn section and a sousaphone.
Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 the day of the show. Doors open at 8pm. Show starts at 9pm. This show at the Rock & Roll Hotel (1353 H Street) is 18+ only.
