It's Ginkgo Spraying Time
Ginko / Sun / Bokeh by flickr user Picale. User under a creative commons license.
DDOT started in yesterday on this year's spraying o' the female ginkgo trees. The spraying, which prevents the formation of the ginkgo's stinky fruit, should wrap up on the 10th. DDOT uses the same spray it has used for 20 years, Shield-3EC 24(C).
DDOT sprays in the evenings. You do not have to move your car. Spraying started in Wards 1, 2, and 6 (because they have the most ginkgos that need spraying), and will start soon in Wards 4, 3, 7, 8, and 5. There's even a map of all the female ginkgos in the District.
