Fare Well Pops Up & Launches an Indiegogo Campaign

Fare Well is coming to 406 H Street. If you can't wait to try the food from H Street's yet to open vegan "diner, bakery, takeaway lunch counter and bar," you can take a field trip to northwest on September 21st and 22nd, where Fare Well will be taking over G by Mike Isabella (2201 14th St NW) at 6 pm each evening. Of course, you may have attended one of Doron Petersan's previous diner pop ups at Sticky Fingers and now feel ready to step up and throw your support behind the new venture. If so, they've got an Indiegogo campaign for that. The basic concept is "veggie centric comfort food." Notice the word "vegan" is absent from that phrase. I imagine that's because, while the food Petersan turns out is vegan, you could easy forget that while eating it because you are too busy focusing on the fact that it just tastes really freaking good.

Owner and Trinidad resident Doron Petersan is best known for her successful Columbia Heights vegan eatery Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats, for twice willing Cupcake Wars, and for her cookbook Sticky Fingers' Sweets: 100 Super-Secret Vegan Recipes. But neither her cooking, nor the food at Sticky Fingers, is confined to sweets and desserts.  Sticky Fingers' menu is full of sandwiches, burgers, tacos, and skewers, and that's not even the brunch menu. The pop up I attended featured a multi-course Italian menu. What am I expecting from Fare Well? A casual place with a slightly different spin on classic comfort foods. They will definitely have pierogies.
