The performance group Dog & Pony is up to something pretty interesting at the Argonaut these days. They held one of these events on Sunday, and they're doing it again on the 18th. i think the description on their website says it best.
ASL Pick-Ups are playful, interactive experiences lead by expert signers in the DC Deaf community. Like trivia nights, they are casual all-hands-on-deck events best done with friends. Each evening consists of three 10-minute “lessons,” allowing you to pick-up skills like how to introduce yourself or ask for someone’s text number.
