Be Part of Capital Fringe Festival 2016

Capital Fringe (1358 Florida Ave) is taking applications for performers and groups who want to be part of the annual Capital Fringe Festival this July. Full details below:

Applications to the 11th Annual Capital Fringe Festival, July 7 to 24, 2016 now open
The Fringe Festival is a self-producing performing arts festival where established and emerging artists can present their work free of a selection process. The Fringe Festival takes place in July with over 140 productions, roughly 800 individual performances, showcasing 5,000 artists for over 30,000 patrons each year. The Fringe Festival is DC’s largest and most anticipated performing arts festival. It is just the place for you to showcase your most daring, raw and authentic live performance work.


The 2016 Festival will be headquartered at our permanent home, the Logan Fringe Arts Space, in DC’s Trinidad neighborhood. Venues there, and on H Street NE, will be joined by a complement of venues in Downtown DC.

Participation in the Festival is an opportunity for you to develop your work in a competitive, but encouraging, environment with an in-built audience. Fringe staff will guide you through the producing process, allowing you to develop your own skills. It is a chance for you to build up your press portfolio (all Fringe shows are reviewed by at least 2 publications), get feedback from audiences and other artists, and earn a majority share of ticket revenue (in 2015, participants earned an average of $1,275 in ticket revenue).

Applications for Fringe Run Venue shows close at 5pm EST on Friday, January 8, 2016 and for Find Your Own Venue shows close at noon EST on Friday, March 4, 2016.
