Fatal Shooting in Ivy City (Off West Virginia) Overnight [UPDATED]

A man was shot shortly after 2:30am today in lower Ivy City. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper chest area, and was transported to the hospital. The Washington Post reports that victim has succumbed to his injuries. MPD has not released any information about suspects.
The message went out over the DC alerts system at 2:57am "Shooting at 208 hrs in the 1900 b/o West Virginia Ave NE. No Lookout CALL 911 W/ EVENT # I20150605781."
NBC4 had a reporter on the scene this morning.

From MPD:

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 1900 block of Capitol Avenue, Northeast on Monday, October 19, 2015, at approximately 2:06 am. Members of the Fifth District responded to a call for sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as 20 year-old Percy Williams of Northeast, D.C. The investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
