A man was stabbed last night around 8pm in the 900 block of 8th Street (between I and K). The man's injuries are not life threatening, and he refused to cooperate with MPD. MPD has said the victim "was stabbed by several suspects that he knows." The victim was taken to the hospital.

This location of this incident continues to be associated with the sale of drugs and regularly has police called to domestic violence, drug use/sale, and yet this behavior persists... it was only a matter of time before a serious incident was to occur.
The house was boarded up, the dealers removed it; the house was reported to be used for dealings, the police ignored; the house was marked as a vacant property, the sticker was removed and doors were forced open...
The District government (not just the police) continue to do the bare minimum to enforce any laws (domestic violence, drugs, underage drinking/intoxication, indecency, and the list goes on). I suppose "prevention" is a thing of the past.

What Anon 5:33 wrote is all true. Word for word... police knew everything that was going on. They did raid the vacant property several times. But it is some kind of inheritance issue ... the city needs to seize the property and re-sell it to an investor or something.
Leave it standing like a rodent trap the sooner they kill themselves off the better the District will be a "somelivesjustdontmatter"
