The H Street Runners group is holding an extended happy hour at Driftwood Kitchen (400 H Street) Thursday November 12th from 6-9pm. They've reserved the upstairs bar, which will serve up a variety of drink specials. The group will have its new #fasterthanthestreetcar t-shirts available for pick-up for those who pre-order them. You can order a t-shirt by sending an email to adamsiple[at]gmail.com. Emails should include "t-shirts" in the subject line and indicate a size(s, m, l) and quantity of shirts. Shirts are $25 each, and unisex. The front of the shirts is plain plain gray New Balance running shirt with the text #Hstreetrunners on the front and the logo (pictured above) on the back.
DC runner Dana Ayers will also be on hand to discuss her new book "Confessions of an Unlikely Runner." Her book includes a number of entertaining and inspiring stories from her experiences as a runner here in DC.
They'll also have some seasoned marathoners (and maybe a certified coach or two) around to chat and answer for those who might be interested in training for either a marathon, or a half marathon. There will be some information available about marathon training programs in our area.
