MPD is investigating Friday night's fatal shooting of 21 year old Dante Kinard. At 9:42pm 5th District officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Benning Road. They located Kinard, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, but later died. MPD issued a look out for three males wearing black and yellow hoodies and jeans.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.

This was right by the Food Store 7 on Benning Rd. That store and it's adjoining parking lot are nothing but trouble. People hang out by the front door and in the empty parking lot from sun up to well past sun down. It's straight up blight and really drags down the surrounding area plus, now people are getting shot right there too.

Probably a white police officer did it. That's who is always shooting these young black men right?
It's sad, a young man who had a whole life to contribute is dead. one or two other
men will likely spend a long time in jail...
Families are affected, neighbors hurt...
