BAB Korean Fusion opened its doors this past Monday at 1387 H Street. The main attraction is the rice (or quinoa) bowls ($7-9) with your selected protein (short ribs, bulgogi, pork, or tofu) and your choice of a mixture of veggies. All bowls come with an organic cage free egg, toasted sesame seeds, and house-made kochujang (a Korean hot sauce).
The Korean short ribs (Galbi) bowl with house veggies (jalapeno, edamame, daikon radish, pickled cucumber, Umma's kimchi), brown rice, and a little sauce I added.
In addition to the rice bowls, BAB also offers dumplings ($8), kimchi fried rice ($7), and ramen ($6) on a daily basis, with japchae and a couple of soups running as daily specials. You can also pick up one of the bags of Korean snack chips.
Wash the whole thing down with a Puck's soda, a cold barley tea, or one of the Korean sodas in the cooler.
They've also got canned coffee, San Pellegrino, and Monster.
Stools line three walls in BAB, but you won't find any tables.

Thanks for the update! I have been waiting for this place to open forever! I hate fusion restaurants- this looks like it might be legit though, here's hoping. I'm not Korean but was stationed in Seoul for a long time so I'll let you know how food here stacks up to the real thing... [nealst]
Nice addition to H st. Been twice. Food is a solid 7/10. Good price point, not pretentious, unique, quick service. Hope they do well.
