Addis Ethiopian now offers a delivery option
The H Street Runners are doing a fun run up to Atlas Brew Works (2052 West Virginia Avenue) on Thursday to go check out the tap room. On the way there runners will also stop by to test out Gallaudet University's (800 Florida Avenue) outdoor track facility, which is open to members of the surrounding community. Runners should meet at 11th and H Street at 7 p.m. Don't forget your photo ID and beer/food money for the brewery.
NoMa Summer Screen will be showing the movie Fast Five (PG-13) tomorrow. Movies start at dark, but it's advisable to get there earlier to claim a spot and set up your blanket or chair (Storey Park is paved). The free event kicks off at 7 p.m. with food trucks, music, and giveaways. Feel free to brink your own food and drink. Coolers are allowed. Storey Park (1005 First Street NE). All Summer Screen movies feature closed captions.
Just a short distance away Union Market (1309 5th Street) hosts Trivia Under the Stars with Sixth & I (doors open 6:15 p.m., trivia starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday). Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 the day of the event, or $30 for all three upcoming trivia events (July 27th and August 15th). Tickets do not include the food or drink you can purchase when you arrive.
Staying in but craving Ethiopian food? Not a problem Addis Ethiopian (707 H Street) now offers delivery for lunch and dinner seven days a week through Caviar. I also had no idea that Addis offers gluten free injera.

heya, inked. injera is made from a grain called Teff. the 'grain' is naturally gluten free, so real injera is great for peeps with gluten issues. it's also really rich in calcium, which is 'nuff said. here's a guick goog on it: http://www.dreacastillo.com/2013/07/the-worlds-healthiest-carb-close-look.html
13 bucks seems pretty steep for trivia. What is that money going towards?
no no no, I only eat gluten free foods that specifically say so otherwise how will everyone else know im now gluten free? being gluten free makes me soooo much better tho
The Poo's Poo,
I'm aware that is the traditional way it's made, but I have a friend with a wheat allergy who spent time in Ethiopia who told me that most of the injera we get here actually has at least some wheat in it.
@ 12:31. Agreed $13 is a steep price for trivia on picnic tables. It is nice however to have a trivia option away from an alcohol environment.
inked - after i posted, i sorta figured that might be the case (with the wheat). i guess they are just formalizing their commitment to the real deal - which is great. the more authentic cuisine, the better!
