Earlier this month a reader tweeted a photo of the sign on the closed Checkers, and noted that it contained an unfortunate (and hilarious!) misspelling.

This particular Checkers location has made the news over the years for more than one car crashing into it. The site sold back in 2013, and rumors circulated at the time that it might become condos.

Perfect!
Free copies of Leviticus with every sandwich ordered.
unless you are LGTB then you can get your sandwhich elseware
Oh, they'll still let you get your sandwich there. Just because they think of gay people as third-class citizens that should be discriminated against doesn't mean they aren't happy to take gay people's money.
Yeah, I really wish this was anything but Chick-Fil-A, even the Checkers staying would have been better.
Honestly, we could use some more good fast food / fast casual places around H St., but I won't be going to Chick-Fil-A.
I understand why people didn't like what Chick-Fil-A did but I think its time we turn our ire against the chicken sandwich place towards the people in our country and around the world who are out there killing LGBTQ folks or urging others to do so. Last I checked, Chick-Fil-A has been providing plenty of nourishment to the men and women willing be shipped out to the hellholes around the world to give the real enemies to our LGBTQ community a taxpayer funded dirt nap. How many more Orlandos will it take before we all wake up to see what the real threat to us LGBTQs is? Or will we wait until its too late?
PS Why didn't anyone give me a heads up about the Dong Business going on at Checkers before it closed?
So happy!
Why a Chick-Fil-A of all choices? I don't understand who they expect to market to.
Anon 8:55 -- you talk like it's only possible to have negative feelings at one person or group at a time, for one thing at a time. It's possible to think that bigotry is bad, period.
remind me to shed some big ratchet tears for checkers...onward and upward
Well if they cater to Capital Hill, they will do well with the GOP offices.
CANNOT WAIT! Chick-fil-A is a great choice.
You don't agree with their corporate policies, hey ho, feel free not to eat there. They pay their workers well and their service ends up being fantastic! This will be a great addition to the neighborhood, one that can be enjoyed by EVERYONE in the neighborhood, not just the Yuppies.
#4 down my gullet, stat!
Anon 9:24 -- that's exactly right. Folks who have a sense of decency, and therefore don't agree with their corporate policies, will feel free not to eat there.
