Local New Brief: Maketto & Masseria in Modern Luxury, Rappahannock Hiring, & 6th & H Bar Closes
Maketto (1351 H Street) and Masseria (1340 4th Street) both appear on Modern Luxury's (page 71) list of "10 Most Exciting New Restaurants." Masseria gets another another nod a couple of pages later for their wine list.
Rappahannock Oyster Bar (Union Market, 1309 4th Street) is hiring cooks who are passionate about seafood and local produce.
District Cuisine reports that 6th and H Bar and Grill has closed, and the building has sold (for $1.15 million per Michael Neibauer of the Washington Business Journal).

6th and H seemed to be missing on the fundamentals of good restaurant service.
I'm not surprised they failed.

6th and H had the worst service of any place I've ever been to on H Street and that's saying a lot.
