Art in the Alley
With September being the District's unofficial festival month, the weekends do tend to get a bit crowded. Last year you could hit Crafty Bastards and Art All Night in the same day (and I did), and this year you can make stops at both Art All Night events and Trinidad's Art in the Alley in an attempt to hit peak art September 24th.
Art in the Alley
Art in the Alley takes place in the alley between the 1200 and 1300 blocks of Florida Avenue and Morse Street. Each year it features lots of visual art and live music, plus whatever else caught the interest of the organizers. Art in the Alley kicks off at 6 p.m., and goes until 10 p.m.
Art All Night (Art Whino, G40)
Art All Night always has several locations along the H Street Corridor. I don't believe they've released a full line-up yet, but you can count on live music at the Starburst Plaza. Art All Night events start at 7 p.m. and run until 3 a.m. Sunday morning (some events end earlier). H Street is one of seven corridors around the District taking part in the annual celebration. In a nod to the Made in DC initiative this year's event will feature only D.C. based artists and collectives, plus some international artists by special invitation.

It's going to be a long (but fun) night. So make sure to rest up from the Saturday before when you went to the H Street Festival, or the Ivy City Block Party, or both.

I'll look forward to Art in the Night details. I wanted to go last year but never saw details on where, when it was, or what was being exhibited.
I think it's difficult timing the week after the H Street Festival because a lot of the same people are involved, so people get busy planning and publicizing the first of the two events.
art in alley = bomb!
