Police arrested a man for assaulting someone with a knife last night around 7:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of Orren Street in Trinidad. According to an email sent by MPD Lieutenant Brad S. Wagner (quoted below), the victim knew the attacker. The original crime alert erroneously identified the location as the 1300 block of Orren Street, where residents were cleaning up following a community block party.
"Good evening Fifth District residents. There was an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (ADW) – knife - that occurred at 7:35 pm on today’s date. The suspect was known to the victim, and through the investigative efforts of the officers, officials, and the detectives on the scene, the case was quickly closed with an arrest of an adult male."
