Local Briefing: Farmbird Headed Our Way, Celebrate Women w/Impala, Corndogs at Big Board
Impala Cantina y Tacqueria (1358 H St.) invites you to celebrate International Women's Day with them. 100% of the proceeds from their Nasty Woman cocktail will go to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. this Wednesday.
PoPville has word that a grilled chicken restaurant called Farmbird is coming to 625 H St. According to their website they want to "to change the way that people think about chicken. By combining the rare pleasure of a perfectly roasted chicken with the bold flavors we’ve come to love, we hope to put a new spin on the nourishing, sustainable food we grew up eating." All "menu items are prepared from scratch daily, using fresh ingredients and classic techniques. No freezers, no fryers, no microwaves." The chickens they serve are all fresh, and "raised humanely on an all-vegetarian diet without growth hormones or antibiotics on regional farms in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware." The menu on their website is a catering menu, but it gives you the general idea what to expect.
The Big Board (421 H St.) is gearing up for National Corndog Day. On March 18, $10 will get all you can eat dogs & tots. Wash them down with $4 PBR tall boys starting at noon upstairs.

Think about supporting women owned businesses on H Street, such as FareWell and Turning Natural.
