The above tweet caught my eye, and I followed up with Tim, who often tweets from his account @TheX2BusDC about goings on in the neighborhood. He said he saw folks from IMM Thai on H (1360 H St.) working in the long-vacant space next door (1362 H St.) and they confirmed the expansion plans. That's great news for fans of the Thai eatery and its upstair sushi bar. It also got me thinking about how much this block has changed over the past decade or so.

Here's a photo of that strip last year.

2008
Here it is in 2008. Back in 2013 and 2014 there were plans to turn 1362 in a sports bar and lounge with a roof deck, but that never materialized. I'm not sure how long 1362 has lacked a tenant, but I believe it was vacant and boarded up when I moved here in 2001. I did manage to dig up a couple of old liquor license application notices for Micky's Bar & Lounge (the old yellow sign). The one below was published in the newspaper The Washington Star (AKA The Evening Star) in 1972, and I saw another one from 1980.

That side of the street is starting to clean up quite nicely. Have not been to Stable, but Sospeso and Turning Natural are really nice additions to the neighborhood.
good food. service isn't the best
The green and red curry at Imm are the best in DC.
