Firefighters managed to put out a fire in a rowhouse in the 800 block of F Street NE. The fire started late last night, and was extinguished this morning. One firefighter was critically injured when he was struck by a ladder truck arriving to fight the fire.

A neighbor tweeted that he heard "a loud boom, then [the] back of the house was engulfed." NBC 4 has more details on exactly what happened.
