Here are two fun weekend events to help you battle any end of the year stress.
Night of a 1,000 Santas at Wunder Garten
Tonight is the Night of 1,000 Santas Dance Party (7–11pm) at Wunder Garten (1101 First Street NE). Put on your best Santa gear and head over to shake a tail feather on the dance floor. Admission is free (even if you've been naughty). The event will feature a dj, drinks, food, and plenty of holiday cheer. It's a fun way to celebrate the final weekend of Winterfest, the pop-up holiday makers market and all around seasonal festival.
Diaspora RiseUp! Shop for a Cause Flea Market at Uni Bistro
Diaspora RiseUp! will hold a fundraiser pop-up Shop for a Cause flea market tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 16, 3–6pm) at Uni Bistro (403 H Street NE). Enjoy refreshments why you shop for new, designer, gently-used and vintage clothing, shoes, accessories, books, and other items at great prices in support of a great cause. Tickets for the event are by donation, but no set amount is required.
Proceeds from the event go to scholarships for young women in Ethiopia to attend a leadership program with AWiB (Association of Women in Business), a network of Ethiopian women professionals and business owners working to strengthen of the pool of women leaders and mentors. The cost of a full-year scholarship for one participant is $300.
