Sushi burrito purveyor Buredo will welcome its first customers at 625 H Street NE today starting at 11am. You can score a free salad or buredo if you are among the first 100 in the door. Buredo is currently hiring more staff for the H Street shop. They have three other locations in the District, as well as one in Bethesda. There is also a NoMa (111 K Street NE) outpost on the way. That one should open in about a month.
Buredo serves salads and burrito-sized sushi rolls with nori and "Asian and other globally-inspired ingredients and flavors." Vegetarians and vegans can dig into the Pretty Riki (sweet chili organic tofu, spicy beet, carrot, jicama, arugula, and yuzu miso sauce) or sub in the sweet chili tofu or yuzo miso sauce for non-vegan ingredients on other items. There are plenty of meat options for those who don't eat fish, as well as selections and substitutions for those who avoid gluten.
Here's something you may not know about Buredo. They (like many other fine restaurants in and around the District) get their fish from Ivy City based Profish (1900 Fenwick Street NE), which is also behind Ivy City Smokehouse (both tavern and market at 1356 Okie Street NE).

I didn't know about Profish! Thank you for that tip
Profish only handles commercial customers, right? They don't do regular retail, do they?
go to ivy city smokehouse for fresh profish fish
2:12,
If you are buying from the Ivy City Smokehouse market you are buying the fish from Profish right across the street.
What happened to the Blue Diner on H St. Is it still opening?
f-in love buredo
