It's hard to believe NoMa Summer Screen is heading into its 11th season, but it's true. The summer movie series from NoMa Business Improvement District started way back in 2008. This year's theme is Wonder Women, and you can vote now to help select the 12 films (out of 25 possibilities) with strong female leads that will play on the outdoor screen this summer. The movies will be shown on Wednesday evenings for 13 weeks over June, July, and August. NoMa BID will make sure that at least 4 of the films shown will be rated G or PG and no more than 4 films will be rated R. NoMa Summer Screen is open to the public and free.

Interesting that all are from 1991 or later, and most much more recent than that. Is it because they figure the audience won't be into older films, or because they think films with strong female leads were more rare before then?
