Sydelle Moore, a candidate for the ANC 5D05 seat, is having a meet & greet tonight (7pm) at Jimmy Valentine's Lonely Hearts Club (1103 Bladensburg Road NE). This seat is currently held by Kathy Henderson. Sydelle Moore is president of the non-profit Langston Civic Association. Can't make tonight, but want to support Sydelle's campaign? You can donate up to $25 (the maximum contribution to an ANC candidate's campaign per individual). You can also request a yard sign, or a poster if you want to put one in your window (great for apartment dwellers without yards), or offer to host a meet & greet, or pass out campaign literature. If you order a sign now it will be delivered by August 15th.

Is it smart for Sydelle to have a meet and greet at a bar with no signage? Like, I can see a bunch of folks wandering around looking for this place. Also, I love Jimmy V's, but the goth decor doesn't lend itself to political meetings if you ask me.

I think it’s great that she’s reaching out to different community “tribes”. This is likely not the only Meet and Greet” she’ll be attending. I categorize it as being inclusive and reaching out to the larger community. Bars without signs are part of this community. There is no reason to exclude them, imho.
