Reader Pat sent in this Fox 5 news story on a woman who was hospitalized following a fight on the X2 bus Tuesday evening. Videos posted on Twitter shows part of the incident in which a white woman argues with someone off screen. The white woman, who clutches a beverage in a plastic cup, says "I just don't want to listen to your music. You guys are..." Which is interrupted by another woman (off screen) who says something like "Throwing yourself into a fit over what now?" The white woman swears, complaining that someone smacked her head, and the other woman responds that she should shut up then. The white woman says "No! I don't have to shut up" and then gets up and moves towards the front door of the bus while one or more people shout for her to get off the bus. Before she exits she looks back and says what I hear as "F**king [the n word] asses!" The other people on the bus can be heard reacting before the clip cuts off. The final video clip shows the the white woman lying on the sidewalk of the Hopscotch Bridge with blood on her face and liquid spattered all around the area as the bus drives away and someone (it sounds like the other woman from the argument) shouts out at the woman on the sidewalk "Call someone else a [n word]!" Other people can be seen standing nearby on the sidewalk, and at least one of them appears to be making a phone call. The Root also covered the incident.

Yet no one talking about how the confrontation started... with someone blasting their music annoying others in the vicinity. Unfortunately all too common on public transit. Self-important people who think they have more right to the space than someone else.
No wonder people do it too, because when they're asked to turn it off, they escalate until they're the victim.
She made a big mistake in even trying to ask those people to show a shred of respect or consideration by not blaring their music in a hot, cramped bus. Those people are basically animals, and they're looking for the smallest excuse to attack Whitey anyway. I guess she gave it to them.
This woman didn't deserve to be attacked violently, but you have to be street smart and use some common sense in DC. You're on the X2. The X2 is a notorious bus line in DC. Calling anyone the N word anywhere is a bad idea. Calling black people the N word on the X2 in DC is just not smart at all. Racial tension in DC is still very much alive.
I do hope whoever attacked the white woman does get charges pressed against them. Violence is never the answer, imo.

Seems like a few racists commenting here today. Look, I don't like loud music on the bus as much as the next guy but if this thing was cruising over the hopscotch by the time she lost it and showed her true colors then she wasn't on it very long and didn't have much further to go before getting off (this lady was going as far as the 12th street stop AT MOST). Suck it up lady; it's not a big deal.
I have seen this woman on the streetcar and walking along H St. numerous times before. Every single time she starts trouble, last time she was yelling at a young black male to move and give up his seat to her and kept getting in his face. I was surprised she didn't get punched that day. Anytime there is a young black male or female on the street walking slower that she would like or doing anything she deems "wrong" she loses it. I would not be shocked if the person/people she confronted on the bus she had before as well, and they are sick of her.

Perhaps someone should throw an Open Records request at WMATA for onboard video of this incident.
Also, MTP apparently stopped two suspects in the assault but did not cite them.
This woman was out of line in her conduct, but she was leaving the bus. For other passengers to escalate her casual
racism to violence was a crime.
Racist, mentally ill or violent makes no difference. Why you hard working folks are even debating who did what or who deserves what is irrelevant. Animals will be animals. Just move along and stop feeding the frenzy. Leave the pigs at the trough Go forth and love other people and sew the seeds of love.

if all lives mattered we would not be donating to gofundme for political parties and FBI agents. We would not be banning plastic straws while the homeless and mentally ill are setting up tents. We would not make silly hats and silly signs to save the future planet for the yet to be born.
We have laws developed over thousand of years that make it plain to see, society can not exist if the individual decides the crime and the punishment. if you want to live in a world where if your neighbor offends you and you can create your own justice....I would be king in that type of society. Noise, garbage, vaccination and parking laws keep us civilized
How does one group of people born in the 70's believe they are owed an apology from other people born in the 70's?

White people have yet to answer for slavery, lynchings, Jim Crow, etc etc and they are doing pretty damn swell. Therefore, I probably will not answer for my “evil” comments."

white lady is probably mentally ill or stupid. still doesn't justify violence committed on her if that's what has happened. also DC is no longer majority African-American. people should stop calling it chocolate city. maybe swirl or something else.

A horrible man came out of a bar and beat my Great Granny in 1922. Since they both are dead can I hunt down his Great Grandchildren, do they owe me an apology? Those kids are guilty of his crimes, right! Chocolate City is gone maybe we can tear down city general and make a coco city theme park with go go music, corner dealers, drive bys, funerals and poverty. Because if remove all the bad and keep only the good we would pretty much have DC as it is today!
I've been called 'white devil' any number of times... never felt the need to give someone a beatdown.

So that So called politician claims that racial tensions are already high in DC? Can someone of the African American demographic care to explain why? This liberal elite city where you can go skip school and still pass, you can put up a tent anywhere, you can claim the jews control the weather.....please clarify why in DC of all places you are tense?
