Stabbing Saturday Morning, & a Victim Shot in 2012 has Died of Complications

A man was stabbed in the 1600 block of Benning Road at 10:22am on Saturday. Police told the Washington Post that the victim is expected to survive. The original text of the alert is below.

In other crime news, a victim shot a block away (1700 block of Benning Road NE) on October 18, 2012 has died and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide. 37 year old Franciscus Denato passed away on July 20, and following an autopsy "the cause of death was determined to be complications of paraplegia due to a gunshot wound." At the time of the shooting a 19 year old was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). He could now face upgraded charges due to the manner of Denato's death.
