Do you have a thirst for knowledge? Perhaps you have burning science questions? LabX is here to help with their program Two Scientists Walk into a Bar. It may sound like the beginning of a joke, but it's really just an invitation to good conversation in a local bar. On Thursday, Feb. 7 local scientists will descend upon eleven area drinking establishments to talk science. Each spot will have a set focus. The scientists will be easy to spot, just look for the sign that reads “We are scientists. Ask us anything!”

Two of the bars are right here in our neck of the woods. Drop by Pie Shop (2nd floor of Dangerously Delicious Pies, 1339 H St. NE) to talk about plant science/food safety. Head over to Cotton and Reed (1330 Fifth St. NE) to discuss environmental science/influenza/infectious disease. You don't have to register or snag a ticket. Just drop by, get a drink, and ask a scientist.

The full list of locations and topics appears below, and in the event announcement.
The Two Scientists Walk into a Bar program was created by the Fleet Science Center in San Diego. LabX is presented by the National Academy of Sciences. Share your experience using #2scientists on social media and don’t forget to tag @labxNAS.

2 Scientists walk into a bar, the bartender asks what they'll have.
The first one says he'll have H2O.
The second one said he'll have H2O too.
The second one died.
