A Chinese Washing Machine Company Liked Local Firm Design Army's Work So Much They Stole It

Adweek has an interesting story on a local business that can sometimes fly under the radar because it's not a restaurant, bar, store, or performance space. Design firm Design Army (510 H St. NE, Suite 200) has called H Street home for years, and you have definitely seen their work even if you didn't recognize it (check out their Instagram @DesignArmy). The firm came up with an amazing campaign for Hong Kong Ballet, and then a Chinese washing machine company known as Little Swan pretty blatantly ripped it off. If you aren't a subscriber to Adweek you can sign up for a free account. You can also read more about the situation and see the images over at Campaign Brief Asia, which posted a story before Adweek, and also covered the Design Army campaign back in May of 2018 when it was first released.

  1. That's the thing about communists, once they decide that stealing everything you own or create is ok... they do it.
