Two Men Injured in Shootings Over the Weekend in Trinidad

There were two non-fatal shootings in Trinidad over the weekend. The first shooting took place in the 1200 block of Holbrook Terrace a little after 8pm on Friday. According to information posted online by ANC Commissioner Jason Burkett a man was shot in the torso, but his injuries were not life threatening. He was treated at a local hospital. Very early Saturday morning (about 1am) another man was also injured in a shooting. According to an email from 5D Lieutenant Jeffrey E. Kopp, officers responded to a call for "a man down" at the 7-Eleven (900 Bladensburg Road NE). Upon their arrival they found the victim suffering "an apparent gun shot wound to the torso." The man was conscious and breathing. He received treatment at a nearby hospital.

Also, as mentioned in the other post, a man was murdered Friday morning at 17th and Benning, and over the weekend some guy was assaulted by two people with sticks on the 1600 block of Benning.

I guess over the last six months, Benning Road has decided that the "nightmarish hellscape" moniker was being appropriated by other parts of DC and decided to win it back.
