Singer Stevie Wonder was spotted at Union District Oyster Bar and Lounge (501 Morse St. NE) with his family on Sunday. The Washington Post reported that Wonder spent several hours dining and meeting fans.

Red Bear Brewing Co. (209 M St. NE) is seeking food pop-ups interested in serving out of the brewery's kitchen.

Maketto (1351 H St. NE) launches their Xiao Long Bao dinner series this Wednesday. The dinners will feature a number of limited-time menu items, including unlimited soup dumplings. Tomorrow's menu features Taiwanese pork chop, crystal shrimp dumplings, Chinese broccoli, and roasted eggplant with whipped tofu. Tickets are $40 a person, and 10% tax and a 20% gratuity will be charged at checkout.

Foreign National and Batang Kankaloo are seeking artists interested in presenting their work for display for the third SAMASAMA Art Show & Gathering that will be held at Shopkeepers (1231 Florida Ave. NE) May 1–25. The exhibit will mark Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by highlighting the original works of artists of color from diaspora communities.
SAMASAMA means all together in Tagalog. The theme of the exhibit is Bayanihan, a Filipino custom derived from the Tagalog word bayan, meaning community. It refers to the spirit of communal unity, work, and cooperation to achieve a particular goal. A portion of the proceeds from art sold will go to support Asian American LEAD (AALEAD). The opening reception will take place May from 6–9pm.

The submission deadline is March 25. This call is open to artists of color producing original paintings, screen prints, illustrations, digital prints, photographs, stand-alone installations or 3-dimensional work with print components. Artwork must be displayable on a wall and must be wired for hanging and no larger than 4x5 feet. Art that highlights the Spirit of Bayanihan, AAPI culture or perspective, social justice, and racial justice issues are especially encouraged.
