Kathy Henderson At It Again

Snapshot-5
Kathy Henderson, shown here stealing campaign signs

Perhaps you thought Kathy Henderson couldn't sink any lower than her memorable campaign sign stealing antics (which were caught on video tape) during which she accused Capital City Diner owner Matt Ashburn of conspiring with Ward 5 Councilmember Harry Thomas to frame her. Well, you were wrong. Don Quixote's evil sister Kathy Henderson is back. This time she's after a neighborhood association. She wrote the following email after a private individual associated with the association responded to her rant about trash collection. Is anything below actually true? Only the fact that the respondent ran (as a write in, against a candidate appearing on the ballot) for the 5B10 seat. Other than that, Henderson has made up all the rest of her "facts." One fact in the nine sentences of the first paragraph. Now that's impressive. Plus a new conspiracy involving the Councilmember! Exciting!

This message is from someone who promotes sex clubs and more bars in the neighborhood and has found a friend in our incompetent councilmember. This comment hails from someone that was unsuccessful in his bid for the ANC 5B10 seat in 2006, which he wanted to use to advocate for more bars in our neighborhood and sex clubs. This poster is now scheming with Harry Thomas to promote another candidate that has the same agenda. The Trinidad Neighborhood Association is a collection of a small group of misguided individuals that want sex clubs and bars near the Trinidad community to allow for their ease of enjoyment. They do not interact with the larger Trinidad and surrounding community and the larger community does not support them or their agenda. They certainly do not like me because of my strong stand on public safety. They also teamed up with slick Harry to promote the Hyacinth's Place project for drug-addicted and mentally ill women at 1058 Bladensburg Road, which is next to an open-air drug market. This poster also has a tenant that is monitored by ankle bracelet via Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency, which other neighbors have complained about. So while he paints a rosy picture of trash collection in this community, know that he assertions belie his real agenda.

Finally, take a look at the alleys throughout Ward 5 for a more accurate assessment of what is happening in our alleys regarding trash collection. The Washington Post, the Office of the Clean City Coordinator, televised City Council hearings, residents and unbiased observations offer a more accurate assessment of the trash collecting services we are not receiving uniformly. Comments from misguided, hostile Harry Thomas surrogates are nothing more than campaign propaganda.

Kathy Henderson

Oh yeah, she's running as an Independent for the Ward 5 seat. Vote Harry Thomas. Unless we can trade Kathy for this guy, in which case, vote for the Rent is Too Damn High Guy.

This is incredible. I'd like to hear more about the sex clubs being promoted in Trinidad.

kathy clearly was sexually assaulted when she was young. why else does she fixate on that so much now? i don't mean to make fun of such a situation, but is there any other explanation?

Maaaan, why does NYC even have better politicians than we do? That just ain't fair.

Wow, had no idea about the campaign signs. She clearly doesn't understand that doing so violates our Constitutional right to free speech!

Kathy,

you obviously need some mental help, and I hope you seek it out and find it before it is too late as your statements are those of a real nut case.

Was she always this crazy? I met her in 2006 and we talked for a bit. She seemed pretty normal then and didn't say anything crazy.

Kathy Henderson needs to stop this mess. DPW Workers lost a friend and co-worker and she has been on the listserv complaining about trash not being picked up...well if you just witnessed your friend/co-worker being killed infront of your eyes you may not be able to pickup trash for a few days either. SHE IS THE WORSE!

Who got killed? What does that have to do with trash pickup? I noticed they skipped picking up our trash last week...

Last Monday was Columbus Day. Trash schedule was altered.

I agree..what does not picking up our trash last week have to do with somebody's friend getting killed?

We didn't have our last weeks pick up until today. I called, and they said the delay was due to an unfortunate incident. That's sad,but they really should have informed customers....

they did inform customers, via radio, tv, and the internet. calling everyone in the city would have been prohibitive, and mailing would have been too slow.

It was all over the blogs and on the news. My husband who never watches the news and doesn't even know what the world 'blog' means knew about the DPW shooting and the suspended trash pickup.

A DPW worker was murdered on the job (at DPWs) last week before one of the morning pick ups... I think that may warrant a postponement.

Uh, the "unfortunate incident" was a DPW worker was shot and killed at DPW's HQ last week. Perhaps DPW thought since it was "Breaking News" everywhere they didn't need to inform customers?

I read this blog 20 x a day and did not hear about it. I don't really check any of the other blogs. I check washingtonpost.com a few times a week and didn't see anything there either

It was also sent out on neighborhood listserves.

I heard about the postponement of trash pick up on the news. It was because of funeral services due to the shooting. Or is it a conspiracy that Kathy Henderson knows and will tell all later?

I don't know... in a demented way I kinda like the fact that we have our own village crazy person. Plus, Bobby Pitman has been kinda quiet lately so somebody has got to pick up the slack in the overzealous/crazy activist department...

I just went to washingtonpost.com after reading the comment about how they didn't see anything in the post about the shooting or the delay. (mostly because i was annoyed the Post wouldn't cover such a big story). I searched the term "DPW" and got 5 Post articles about the shooting, funeral and delay of trash pickup. It was pretty well publicized. And it's featured on the main page of the DPW website.
