H Street Food Co-op Organizing Meeting

The food co-op is holding a meeting tonight to discuss its vision for a storefront co-op on H Street. The co-op, which once collectively purchased food from the farmers at the H Street Farm Fresh Market, has suspended these purchases in order to focus more fully on a brick & mortar operation. Here is the info:

Hour one: Vision and Concept!
Everyone who wants to be a part of the Coop should be part of this dynamic process. On June 13th we will be discussing vision and concept as a group, based on our underlying principles of:
1) Voluntary and Open Membership
2) Democratic Member Control
3) Member Economic Participation
4) Autonomy and Independence
5) Concern for the Community
6) Education, Training, and Information
7) Cooperation Among Cooperatives.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to the conceptual formation of H Street Community Market!

Hour two: Committee Work! We will break into our four committees: (Slightly modified from the one you signed up for. Feel free to switch!) The committees will be charged with making a plan for this summer. For example, there is a chance we can get matching funds of up to $10,000 for any money we can raise by October!
