The guy who sells veggies, fruit, and flowers (is that Freddie?) really gave me some good advice on what perennials to put in my garden.
The vendors are really great!

ANC 6C awarded a grant to the Capitol Hill Garden Club to distribute free flower bulbs to residents of 6C (they also applied for grants from 6A & 6B, not sure of status). To receive the bulbs, you have to commit to planting them in a location that is easily visible from the street/sidewalk (treebox, corner garden, etc).

I'm working with the Garden Club to have them distribute the free bulbs one weekend at the Farmer's Market. In accordance with our grant, you will have to show that you are a resident of 6C to receive bulbs (at least from those purchased with the grant). Others should be able to get "unrestricted" bulbs, too.

There is also an application for bulbs available to everyone (including those reserved for residents of 6C). I'll be sure to send a link to the application as soon as I have it.

I'll get more details to Inked once I have them.
