Fitness Together @408 H Street

I've gotten a report about a sign advertising a coming soon business at 408 H Street (next to the hot yoga studio). The sign announces the business as Fitness Together.

There is a Fitness Together in Scott Circle--it's a one on one personal training faciltiy. It looks like franchises are available. I wonder if it's the same organization.

This would be a good addition to H Street. I won 3 free sessions at the Silver Spring location, which I finished last week. The trainers were great, nice facility; I would have been willing to pay for more sessions (about $75) if it didn't require driving to MD.

A better addition would be a regular old gym or health club! "Will Power" is mostly 1:1 programs as well, and doesn't have many free weight options.

the storefront next door to PNC Bank at 8th & H appears to be a cell phone store, judging from how the interior was laid out (the shelving is very similar to the typical cell phone store layout...sparse in the middle of the sales floor, with shelving on the walls. I could be wrong though, but with the sprint store catty corner seemingly doing good business, it would make sense for a competitor to come into that major transportation intersection for folks in far northeast and far southeast)

I have to disagree with Tom's assessment of WillPower. I'm a member - and I do work with Kenney, the personal trainer, one day a week - but the majority of my time in there is self-directed.

They're a pretty standard gym - multiple cardio machines (more coming soon), Nautilus-style machines for isolating various muscle groups, and free-weight dumbbells from 2 pounds up to at least 20. They've also got a free-weight bench set up up front.

They will soon be rolling out 24-hour access for members (they're working to address security concerns that come with that), and they've got a pretty wide range of classes that they offer free to all members, as well.

Definitely not a place that focuses on mostly 1:1 programs.

I just joined Willpower and agree with Mike. While I'd like to see more free weights and improved cardio equipment, I think it's important to support the gym we have now.

Increased membership and good feedback will let Will make his space even better.

It would be easy to run across the Hill to Results, but that doesn't improve H St.

Will has just added four new elliptical machines and four new treadmills this week, significantly increasing the number of cardio machines available at Will Power.

They are also launching some nutritional counseling/meal planning options.

If you haven't stopped in yet, you might want to check it out.

The one on Scott Circle is the same company. I just started training there and they are awesome. Dave and Jen make me feel comfortable, its fun, its private and I have started seeing results. I can not stand huge meat market gyms I am so happy I found something like this
