Spare change? Help the homeless get some charcuterie?

People should give NAPA a break. $50 for everything they're having for Valentine's Day is not that bad. I think its comperable to what's being offered at Granville Moore's on Valentine's.

Inked, I was unsure if your "Nice" was in reference to their menu or well deserved sarcasim directed at the previous two posts. My view is that, however intended, either be appropriate.

I think I may just go.

Anon 1049, I think those were jokes.

Besides, Inked has already posted two more budget-conscious options: the Speakeasy DC event at Sova ($10 cover per person) and the Broke & In Love dinner at Rock n' Roll Hotel.

Napa and Granville Moore's do seem to be competitively priced for Valentine's Day, and they're definitely offering a decent amount for what they're charging.

If you really want to do something fancy on a tighter budget for Valentine's Day, try cooking at home. Scallops, steak, even chicken - whatever you're in the mood to eat with your love that night is going to be less expensive (and it will make for a nice shared experience) if you make it yourself.

I think it's very reasonable. Nice dinners, especially on Valentine's Day, are expensive. This almost seems like a bargain. My husband and I already have our Napa reservations for that night and are looking forward to it!

The nice was aimed at Monkey Erotica's comment.

NAPA's prices are cheap in my opinion and if I wasn't going away I'd be there in a heartbeat. By the way, has anyone been there recently? I was just wondering if they were getting a decent crowd every night...

Go NAPA!!! and NY Giants!!

Good question Joe. I'd like to know that myself - especially week night vs. weekend? Has anyone been lately? Maybe the owner or their bartender will jump in and give us an update. They really need a good buzz about them or more positive press. Or maybe they're doing just fine and I haven't heard. I'd really like to see them succeed - I'm sure we all do.

Their weekday Tapa specials are fantastic, and they are certainly modestly priced.

maybe some of you folks that really want to eat at NAPA, but find the prices outrageous should ask your work if they'll subsidise your passion, and contribute to the long term sustainability of your commitment to whatever it is that you do, because bad romance can lead to a career disaster.

that's one way of trying to be "romantic", if you can't pay your bills. no?
