INDIGO presents Songs from the Heart, and Other Vital Organs

Springtime means Cherry Blossoms and Condensed Mikado
For the third year, the Washington Savoyards presents the rollicking Condensed Mikado, during Washington's famed National Cherry Blossom Festival. Scott Kenison, who with David Simmons, created this ninety-minute campily staged version of Gilbert and Sullivan's beloved Mikado which reminds us that when sauces are condensed, the flavors and delight are heightened. The story and songs of mistaken identity, potential life and death disasters, job promotions that turn out to be not at all what one had hoped, spurned affections, and new love is all there. It just flies by quickly. True to the Cherry Blossom Festival, there are definitely cherry blossoms in the Condensed Mikado, on stage March 27 to April 13. For tickets, call the box office 202.399.7993 or purchase online.
