DCist picks up the noise protesters' weekend Georgetown plans.
From DCist: The activists plan on meeting at 6:45 a.m. both days at the corner of 30th and P streets and proceeding to demonstrate from 7 to 9 a.m. If you're thinking of joining the ruckus but are afraid of getting busted by the law, fear not -- police have been notified and will be offering "full protection for the [amplified] group both days."
Sounds like a good way to start your Saturday or Sunday.

Oh that sucks!!!
But at the same time, there has to be a happy median for the nightlife and the residents.
they should yell in front of jack(ass) evan's home.
that's where they're going.
Inked - I read the sign at Langston Bar & Grill. It says 'Coming soon: Southern Comfort Food - greens, beans and more." Doesn't indicate a date, and the windows were covered so I couldn't peer in.
Can anyone report on today's demonstration?
Sorry to bust this thread but....does anyone know what is going on at 400 H st NE? It is a corner, one story building, that I believe was going to have a health food store in it. Lately every Fri and Sat night it has been packed with people. What is going on in there? Does the building have a valid C of O? Do they have a permit to conduct biz in there?
811, no idea about the corner of 4th and H.
Liz, thanks for checking. This one is a bit off the beaten path so it may be harder to get info.
Saw coverage of this on the news Sat night. The demonstrators most definitely got their point across. The folks in G'town were highly irritated. Evans refused to be interviewed for the piece, though he did call in to the station with a comment stating that his position on the matter remains the same.
If his position on the matter remains the same then these folks need to repeat this action over and over again, both at Evans' house and at the house of every other councilmember that supports Evans.
Good plan, I agree. The folks on Evans' street were none too pleased. If I understand correctly, these demonstrations are planned to continue.
Where does Evans get the $$ for his campaign? Are there businesses that donate to his campaign? If there are, wouldn't they be better targets?
I'm just trying to think of who has more sway over him...a few pissed off neighbors or the source of the $$.
here's a quick update for those of you that care:

folks, i have to say, i used to live in georgetown. i owned a home right off wisconsin and m street.
to be honest, if it doesn't touch residents, it doesn't matter.
before i got a divorce and moved to the h street area (by necessity and yes, choice), i would never have considered moving around here. i couldn't have cared less about the folks in NE.
i think a better strategy might be to make jack evans spend a night in klavitter's home, and wake up to the crap we hear.
i dunno.
i DO know that gtown folks don't care a bit about NE DC. the more we annoy them, the more they tune out.
that's just my two cents as a former resident of the gold coast...
mmm poo, judging from the video I saw, it doesn't look like the residents in G-town we're tuning out that's for sure.
BTW, didn't you promise to go away? I knew you couldn't do it - these blogs are your life, admit it!!
I hope there isn't another barrage of vicious attacks on Poo Poo. Even though s/he was disagreeing with me, this comment seemed fairly relevant and informed!
But I guess I'm always rooting for the underdog. doo.
Rob, I'm not attacking poo. Why would I do that? I'm just pointing out that he's addicted to blogs and couldn't possibly "stop posting" (he recently said he was going to stop posting). Nothing wrong with living for community blogs.
maybe i need an intervention! :op
