Here's the article in the Washington Post about it: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/04/03/AR2008040300071.html.

I live about a block away from where this happened. The man shot
was pronounced dead at the scene. MPD still had 19th street blocked off when I left for work this morning.

It would not suprise me if this is drug-related. There is an alley right across the street from where the man was shot where there is still a couple of dealers. The bad thing about this, which was talked about in the Post article, is that it will be hard for the cops to solve since not very many people on that particular block want to talk to the cops.

of course this is drug related. People don't just get shot dead for no reason.

"it will be hard for the cops to solve since not very many people on that particular block want to talk to the cops."

-might be because of the way they treat people in this neighborhood. I'm not saying they don't have a hard and mostly thankless job, but I have seen cops in Carver/Langston be pretty nasty to people. They don't have a lot of goodwill

Lot of police activity at Oates & Staples this eve, south side. It'll be interesting to read the police reports tomorrow.

there is absolutely no excuse for withholding information about a crime, especially a murder! i don't care how bad you've been treated by the police. you're not helping the police, you're helping the victim and his/her family. typical dc moronic mentality. i need to move back to kansas....

i'm not saying that makes it OKAY, i'm just saying that's what it IS.

just sayin.

excuse me but I know the guy who was killed (and immediately came to the scene after I heard he was killed) and I def. do not agree that it was drug-related at all. If anything, it may have been related to money but NOT drugs...
