I'm on their mailing list, and got an announcement that, for some reason, they were doing a "Sex and the City" night yesterday. I don't think they know their neighborhood very well yet. BUT, I ate there recently, and their roast chicken is AMAZING!
Don't lie to us poo poo. You know you went to opening night by yourself, sat in the back of the theater, and laughed your ass off. It's okay, homie, I won't judge:)
I'm going to inherit a left handed driver real soon, so I plan to hit a bucket of balls, and then eat chicken tenders till they kick me out real soon!
The SATC event was a small success. We showed old episodes upstairs, gave away SATC movie tickets and other doors prizes. Absolut was the official sponsor for the event and our patron really enjoyed the night.
The Langston names is derived from John Mercer Langston (pls. google) not the Langston Golf Course or Langston Hugh. I am an avid golfer and do encourage other golfer to pay us a visit.
Currently, our opening has been a great success but not without the ocassional unexpected problem and or complaint. We intend to grow and improve every week. Peace.

PS: Our patrons do drink Cosmos, buy fancy shoes and pay for cable TV and occasionally have sex (smile).
Huh? Aren't you close to the golf course? I'll admit that I'm still not really familiar with that part of the neighborhood, but wouldn't my comment still make sense?
Your comments do make sense. We are about 5 block from the golf course. But, the name Langston is not originally synonymous with the golf course. Langston (LBG) is about the man and the community named after him (John Mercer Langston).
We are having phone line issues. I hope to have the number forwarded and corrected this week. Thanks for your patience. Peace.
I also learned recently that there was a shoe store on that site- which is mostly why they have a shoe in their logo! I just read about John Mercer Langston- he sounds like a great guy!
The atmosphere at Langston Bar and Grille is very relaxed and comfortable. When I came in for lunch, I'm was greeted by the bartender, Michele, she always smiles and is always offering something great for lunch. I really enjoy the food here because it is flavorful and just is...really great! I especially enjoyed the macaroni and cheese and greens, Ox Tails (which is VERY tender), the Salmon cakes I had on Monday were SCRUMPTIOUS. I met the chef, his name is CB, and he was telling me that ALL the ingredients are fresh, and organic. NOTHING comes from a can or box at Langston. The bar has cozy lounge area upstairs. While dining at Langston, I heard all types of music from John Legend to Raheem DeVaugn to James Brown. They also have free Wi-Fi (great for an after work drink while surfing the internet on your laptop). I encourage everyone reading this to visit Langston Bar and Grille (1831 Benning Road, NE) for an exceptional dining experience.
P.S. They're open for lunch from 11-3 and dinner from 5-11. They are a much needed addition to the community, great people, great food and great drinks!!!
I think the concept of LBG is great however, it is still 5 to 10 years from fruition. I was sorely disappointed to find that the food I tasted at the opening was not consistent with the food served now. I was also heartbroken to find out that Chef T, who orignially conceptualized the menu is no longer associated with LBG, which explains the lack of flavor on the menu.
Opening a new restaurant can be tough but it makes it even tougher when you are constantly running out of food, don't have the alcohol that patrons like, or the kitchen is not open! Management leaves much to be desired especially since Antonio spends most of his time at other bars and the Cigar bar instead of running his own establishment.
LBG began with a great set of bartenders but since the staff changes almost daily, it is hard to feel like you are at home. On one occassion, when I walked in the bartenders looked like strippers! Was this supposed to entice me to tip? I think not! I expected so much more from Antonio and LBG. Maybe in 5 years he will learn how to run a successful restaurant and put the effort into LBG that he has put into his other company.

Are you saying that this neighborhood doesn't have a sense of humor?
We don't like shoes?
We We can't afford cable, so we didn't watch Sex in the City?
People who did watch Sex and the City would go to the 1800 block of Benning Road?
Exactly what are you saying Tom?
i got dragged to the sex and the city premiere last night in gallery place.
we went to clyde's and at lobster and oysters, and then walked up the escalators to the movie theater.
overall, it was interesting (as a guy).
why they had the little SATC evening at langston is just.... interesting.
but hey, they're giving their little grille a 'go'. i'm sure it would fare a bit better during some of the golf tournaments, RFK events, etc.
trying to be too much, too soon, is likely to .... um... not work out.
dying to try their chicken though, as long as i don't have to travel to gallery place to see a long arsed chick flick afterward.....
