I recently had the pleasure of stopping by Langston's Bar and Grille, and was pleased to see a classy place opening its doors on H St.
I was immediately greeted by the two bartenders, who appeared to be two elegant women with great smiles. They made me feel welcome as soon as I stepped in the door. The menu looks like it has some good solid dinner items, but it was the greens that caught my eye. After tasting them and re-living a moment at my mothers dinner table...I was in love. hints of brown sugar cooked into the greens...a little twist that sure paid off!!
They even have FREE Wi-Fi so guests can bring their laptops and connect while sipping on a cocktail.
Langston Bar and Grille is a hidden jewel among the current H Street/Benning Road chaos. The food is WORTH THE TRIP through the constuction zones, (I had something called Springarn Chicken...i think) it was moist, tender, and flavorful. the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is relaxing. The place is sure to be a hit once more people hear about it. Take a peek for yourselves!

The food is good. I recommend the butter bean and cabbage as your sides. Expect to wait, just like any other new restaurant in the area.
Are there tables or is seating really only at the bar? I did not see tables in the restaurant.
The tables are upstairs.
