the story about the old man getting stabbed in his car was horrific. presumptively he ran into someone who objected to his attempts to keep that alley crime-free, if the fact that $80 was left in his pockets untouched is spot-on (ordinarily a mugger or the sort would obviously take his money).
so, now people trying to slow down the crime are getting stabbed.

Very few things make me weep. This did. The photos are amazingly powerful. We need to figure out a way to get beyond this.
When it gets warm criminals start acting up. Maybe we could keep Trinidad cold 12 months out of the year to curb the violence?
