Does anyone reading this blog remember McBride's Variety Store? I think the store on the northeast corner of 7th and H is the original McBride's building but don't know for sure. Its neat that McBride's was the first integrated lunch counter on H street but McBride's also got bad publicity in the 1970s for overcharging their customers.

I love all those trees.

Those street trees are cool. Hopefully the new streetscape will provide a nice tree canopy on H in a couple of years.
