Hmm I've been to a lot of great yard sales in the neighborhood. And DC is famous (infamous?) for closing off streets for various block parties in the summer, especially in Anacostia and Shaw.
The street won't be blocked off for the yard sale, of course, don't want to lose potential drive through sales.
If you live in the next block why not set up your own table or chairs and sofa if that's the case and unload it yourself. I think the idea of a multifamily yard sale is community building and getting to goof off with your neighbors. So Anonymous you have been notified, I'm sure you have something that you want to unload that someone else maybe able to use.
Generally what's not sold can be taken around the corner to the Salvation Army.
Can't wait for the yard sale and block party. There was a sign that the Salvation Army on H does NOT take donations. Hence all the junk sitting on the sidewalk every now and then.
If the stuff is priced to move, you'll sell it though!!!
It should be a good time, I've got glass tiles, a wooden 2 story doll house, several light fixtures, tools, books and DVDs (childrens) and more all priced to move!!! No reasonable offer refused! I just sold a antique medicine cabinet to the Pug for 20 bucks and a beer.
Actually there's two "thrift stores on H, I think the one at 14th near Sova will take stuff unless they've changed their policy since last weeked. Three bag limit though.
